I
have always said that when we were born my brother got the money gene
and I got the good looks--okay, no wise cracks! In any case we both got
an allowance and by the end of the week he had an extra dollar or two
due to the interest he charged me when I had to borrow money--every
week! I have never been able to manage my money--I always spent it
before I got it.
For some
reason money always seems to burn a whole in my pocket. When I got home
on Friday, after the movie and going to Cheddar's, I saw that I received
the check for the two paintings that I had sold for $300. It was
Friday! The banks were closed! I couldn't get the check cashed! I
couldn't spend the money! ARGH!
I
had already bought the blender and I knew I wanted to buy a new,
larger, monitor for my computer and I really wanted a better digital
camera than the $20 one I had.
I
am not a shopper as a rule--except when it comes to food!--and I don't
ever remember comparison shopping but I still had Jill's car and nothing
planned for the afternoon so off I went. I went to Office Depot,
Target's, Best Buy and CompUSA. I had an ad for an outlet store of BrandsmartUSA which I figured I could go to on Monday, after getting the check
cashed, and having written the prices down from the various stores, wind
up with a decent buy.
I must admit I was/am completely
confused regarding all the differences in digital cameras but
concentrating on 3 different kinds and makes I, at least, will have some
idea on the prices BrandsmartUSA has versus the others. For what it is
worth comparing prices on the Internet didn't help because I couldn't
find the same models in all the stores.
There
is such a difference in price between an 18.5" and 20" monitor I will
probably go for the former because, believe it or not, I don't want to
spend all $300. I do want to save some for a dinner out! LOL
