This
whole eras, nose and throat followup has been a strange experience. It
all started with my ears having that sort of you want to hold your nose
and pop your ears when you get off a plane feeling--does that make
sense?? In any case I can hera everything but it sounds like it is
coming through an echo chamber. Went to the ears, nose and throat
doctor who sent me to a diagnostic center where I had about a dozen
tests--won't go into the having to abort first appointment due to
anxieties and then taking 2 mgs an hour before the second appointment.
Also will just briefly mention their FORGETTING (!!!) a 10 second test
that I had to go back to have done on the following Saturday.
In
any case the doctor said the test results were all fine and nothing was
wrong!! If that's the case why do I still ahve the problem?? She did
mention that after 60 years of smoking my vocal cords have tightened up
and now that I have stopped smoking they might be loosing up a bit
which is why I think my voice sounds different--that 'think' part gets
me. I did read the radiology report and here are some quotes:
CT
head: There are no acute infarctions. There is a 1 x 1 well defined
ovoid mass located adjacent to the junction on the sphenoidale and the
greater sphenoid wing on the left. (Doctor says this is nothing to
worry about.)
CT neck: Both orbits are in tact. Vallecula is intact. No lymphadenopathy in the neck.
CT
mastoids w/contrast: There is no mass of the ostium of the internal
auditory canal or cerebellopontine angle region. (Whatever that
means!!LOL)
As I said the doctor said everything is okay and she made an appointment to see me January 15 for a follow up.
And now for the part 3 update and the crazy November schedule in an attempt to get better!!!!
