Me, Ricky Martin, Julien Hug, Doctor, Etc.

I
love my primary doctor but I may have to start going to another one as
it seems I have gained 13 and 1/2 pounds since last year and, of course,
it is his fault or his scale is wrong!! And though my cholesterol total
was in the good range it must be his fault that my triglycerides and LDL is a little high. It certainly couldn't be what I eat/ate!!

The
good news is that having had my semi-annual blood work done those were
the only 'problems'. I did learn that a common problem for old men is
dry ears! How come they don't warn us about these things when we are
young? Must be the doctor's fault!

I
very seldom watch TV during the day but this week I saw a part of The
View and Oprah Winfrey and both had Ricky Martin as their guest. It
seems he just published an autobiography and was on the shows to plug
it. He talked about coming out, his twins and on both programs he
addressed young gays with a heartfelt message that things will get
better. I never thought one way or the other about Ricky but after his
looking directly into the camera, truly reaching out to gay youth, I
have become a big fan of his!

******************************************************

I don't want you to get the idea that I don't watch TV--I do--probably too much--but  shows like "The Bachelorette" aren't among them so I don't know much about Julien Hug, who was a contestant on the show. I read today that he had
committed suicide. Why would a good looking guy of 35 who seems  to have
everything kill himself? We will probably never know. I feel sorry for
the family, and friends, he left behind to deal with what he did because
a person killing themselves leaves them with pain and unanswered
questions even if he feels both will end for him when he dies.

On
Tuesday, November 16,  "Burn The Floor", 'an electrifying Latin and
Ballroom dance spectacular featuring "So You Think You Can Dance" alums'
quoting the press release, will be opening night and I will be there to
review the show for www.corinescorner.com I know very little about the show and will share parts of the press release this coming week with you.

Um, well, 75 kinda looks, you know, old...And you don't.

Who is his boyfriend? Wait...I don't want to know. We all need to have our dillusions.

Okay if truth be told I, being a Leap Year baby---Feb. 29, 1936--am only 18 and 3/4 years old--I know, I know, I look old for me age--my teens were rough!
For the record Ricky's boyfriend is NOT me.

You don't look 75!

Is it okay if *I* pretend Ricky Martin isn't gay?I'm glad he finally came out of the closet and his reaching out to youth is a wonderful way to give back.

When anyone says that I immediately think of 5 guys who live here--all are 75--and all look different--what does 75 look like? But I'll accept the compliment.

I would say okay don't think Ricky is gay but he does have a new boyfriend!

I've heard of dry eyes, but not dry ears. If anything, it's the opposite with me. It's easy to fall off the wagon, food wise, so be ever vigilante. With this cold of mine, soup sounded good, so I made some chicken broth--twice. Then I read how much sodium is in each one of those teeny cubes--880 mgs!!!!!! 37% daily req. Think I'll stick with tea.

I don't know whether it has to do with the climate or what but the ears get very itchy!!
I've been playing games with myself regrading the weight--I knew it was coming on--heck, the clothes tell me that!!--so it is time to get serious about it and with the holidays coming up it is a good time for me to get with my program.
I did have someone say to me, "Come on, you are 75, why are you worried/concerned about being overweight?" I gave them a simple answer, "Vanity!"
