I Love Being an Octogenarian Leap Year Baby!

We all have many titles during life and I have reached the pinnacle, for me, an octogenarian Leap Year Baby--bet you don't know many of those, if any! Though at 80/20 years old I began feeling the getting old pains I really can't/won't complain as most occur getting up and out of bed while the rest of the day isn't that bad. The only impediment that interferes with my life is the Peripheral Artery Disease I have which makes walking any distance more than 2 blocks more than a chore. That 20---soon to be 21---year old still gets excited about everything in life from eating to movie and theatre going and, yes, Mother Nature! Peyton, the young girl in the picture above, is Gateway's great, great granddaughter (okay, she belongs to Becky's granddaughter) and there isn't a person here she doesn't get a smile from. It is little--no pun intended--things like that which makes this Octogenarian Leap Year Baby feel young(er).

Geraniums are one of my favorite flowers. We had a pair of marked down hanging pots of them with flowers that ranged from dark orange to corals to light pinks all in the same pot. For more than 10 years we've taken them back and forth between Las Vegas and Colorado, depending on the season. Last year I gave one away, and the one that's left got frost nipped a couple weeks ago, so I'm wondering if it will recover. It's probably time to get a new geranium next spring that isn't so pot bound, and I'm sure it will bring years of enjoyment. I would say that I'll miss this varied color one, but unless I have pictures of it when it was in its prime, I'm sure that I'll forget all about it.

I am so amazed at how many years month after month these have/are blooming and that one pot with different colors (like my 'Christmas' Cactus) is a gem unto itself.
The one thin g that surprises me though is that I have tried hundreds of times to cut off a Geranium stem to replant it and get another plant just doesn't seem to work!!

I love being alive but anything more than that is useless babble. As for 21 in your case: I suppose that doesn't count for something special!

I really don't have a single complaint in the world---oh well not having a car makes life a little difficult but then if I had a car I couldn't afford to eat out, go to the movies and theatre!!
