I don't mind the rainy season because every evening
there are spectacular sunsets. Okay, so Allen and I got really soaked just going
from Best Buy to his car, a few yards, this afternoon when we got drenched in
less than a minute!!! :O)
I am sitting here watching
a documentary on PBS regarding the journey of "In The Heights", a musical about
the Hispanic community in New York and I have "Broadway Envy". I get such a warm
and tender feeling when I see the wonder on an actor's face as he watches a 7
foot billboard with his face going up in the center of Broadway. I am touched
watching my Morales, Priscella Lopaz,
from "A Chorus Line", 34 years later playing a mother of kids who were her age
those so many years ago. And how can you NOT cry when a man who has written the
book, music and lyrics takes a bow on opening night having accomplished his
dream? In my next life I want the taste of appearing on a Broadway
stage!!
The reason Allen and I got soaked was that I
needed a new printer. After 3 years my old
printer called it quits and I was lost without one. Amazing how quick we get
attached to technical equipment. I need to print out a letter the other day and
couldn't and felt lost. I realized that the old days of typing a letter and
sending it out are over!! :O) Needless to say it took awhile to set it up and
had to call for help and am still not sure about the scanning but I'll learn but
I can print coupons!!! LOL
Allen and I had lunch at
Tropics and while I was there made a reservation for Tuesday when we will be
celebrating John's birthday. I won't say how old he is but he is still beaming
from yesterday when the cashier wouldn't give him a senior discount thinking he
wasn't old enough!! LOL
I LOVE the KQ Advantix dog ad with the dogs asking for
'more' especially the one getting his belly rubbed and wants more!
Want to feel old? Be
sitting by the pool reading a book about Susan Hayward and a 'kid'--I think he
was in his 20s--asks you who she was!!! Alfredo had sent me the book as he knows
I love to read show biz biographies and this was a pretty good one. She had a
very rough time at the end of her--almost like Farrah Fawcett is having--dying of cancer at a
young age. It struck me that many actresses, at least from the 30s to 50s,most
of them so successful that they were on the higher tier of the Hollywood ladder,
became alcoholics and ended life alone.
Okay, off to play with my new toy--the
printer!!!!
