ME                                                                ALLEN

Some people might call it being in a rut but it is a rut I look forward. On Thursdays Allen picks me up and takes me on my errands which can, and usually does, consists of going to The Dollar Tree , Winn-Dixie, Publix, CVS and, sometimes, the post office and Home Depot . No matter where we go we do stop for lunch. In most cases they are places I have gotten groupons for so usually they are full service restaurants with
servers, tablecloths and silverware such as this past Thursday we went
to the Bravo Restaurant. I had bought a $20 coupon for $40 worth of
food.
The shocker was the prices of the desserts which we didn't
learn until we got the check--$11 for a brownie with vanilla ice
cream?!?! That was as much as my Pollo Scarpariello. The chicken/sausage
dish was worth it but the brownie definitely didn't.Friday is a
different story.

Every
Friday we go to a movie and then go to a fast food place to get a bite.
Yesterday we went to see "Arbitrage"--see my post yesterday for a
review--one of the few good movies I saw this year.
By the way Gere is so much better looking in the movie than his picture in the ad

After
the movie we went to the Boston Market. They were having a 2-4-1 on
their new 'bowl' dinners. You select either chicken or turkey plus 2
sides and it is all put in one bowl. It's a lot better than is sounds
and less expensive than one dessert at the Bravo! LOL

I
had joined the Home Depot garden club and got a $5 certificate so
stopped by there. They were having a sale on mums at $2.77 each and I
bought 3 different colors. With the $5 off coupon I would only be paying
$3.31 for 3 gorgeous plants. I had only one problem--the $5 off was if
you spent $50!!! Folks you don't want to trust me with your money. I
bought the plants anyway because for $9 I would be bringing a lot of
color and beauty into my apartment.

I am already looking forward to next Thursday and Friday though the routine will change a little bit--I'm going to get new classes. See I'm not in a rut!

What a great price for the mums. They'd cost about $15 a pot here.

"You select either chicken or turkey plus 2 sides and it is all put in one bowl."
I can't imagine how it could be any worse than it sounds.
I should explain that I have a buddy who runs a family care. One of his 86-year old clients has a problem eating, so everything goes into the blender and a thickening agent is added so he doesn't regurgitate. Applesauce and spaghetti, Berries and oatmeal... I have repressed the worst, but I know it's pretty disgusting...

I had mac and cheese on the bottom, then turkey topped with string beans--sort of a loose casserole--and it won't be layered when it gets to your stomach!!!
IF I am like that guy in 10 years I won't be hanging around!!!
