I had paid $10 for a coupon worth $20 of
food at the China A restaurant so we decided to go for lunch there on Wednesday.
When we drove up I was a little hesitant as it was only one store front wide. I
flashed back to the disaster the last time we had Oriental food and how
disappointed Allen had been but we were here, I had the coupon, and so we went
in and discovered a small but comfortable feeling restaurant where every inch of
wall, ceiling and floor was decorated. There were 6 tables against one wall
divided by a plant and a 2 table alcove with a fish tank and across from the 8
tables was the to-go counter with the cash register, a display case and behind
that the chef's working area.
It was a large menu separated into 3
different food sections of Japanese, Thai and Chinese which in turn were divided
into appetizers, soups, combinations, lunches, dinners, specialties, beverages
and desserts. We both went for the Chines specialties with Allen having the
'Triple Delight' ($13.95) consisting of chicken, shrimp and scallops served
with vegetables, white rice and a salad with ginger dressing. I had the 'Happy
Family' ($13.95) which consisted of pork, chicken, crab meat, shrimp and mixed
vegetables plus a salad with a peanut sauce. Allen had 2 cans ($1.50 each) of
soda while I drank water.
We both agreed the food was good and my
empty plate proved that--well not really as my plate is always ends up
empty no matter what the food tastes like!
Between the food, drinks, tax, tip minus
the $20 coupon our lunch cost a total of $18.31, $9 each, which is the
average for lunch these days.
By the way, while we were there they were doing a steady take out business.
