Celebrating Leap Year Birthdays-part 8--2008

Terry and Chuck came in from Memphis on
Thursday, February 28, and we went to Bennigan's where I
had cake and ice
cream. That eveing they, Allen and I went to see "Confessions of a Mormon Boy"
and then to the Peter Pan diner, where I had a slice of carrot cake!

MY BIG DAY started off with Terry and Chuck dropping me of at the AMC movie theatre where Allen and I saw "the
Other Boleyn Girl" while they went 'sightseeing' at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach and Wilton Manors--they
took some 60+ pictures (mostly 'eye candy'!!)

At 4:30 we met
up at Sweet Tomatoes where the party tool place--I lost count of how many
pictures were taken between Terry, Chuck, Francis and me. Just to give you an
idea of how much I love Chuck and Terry I even got up at 7:30 AM (yes, in the
morning) on day 4 but that's another blog :O)

The day after my birthday we went to Haulover Beach stopping at The Rascal House,
which was a landmark in South Florida,
for breakfast. Afterwards we went to
South Beach and that evening to teh Hard Rock casino where I lost $150--and
that's why I don't gamble too often as I am a dad loser.

The next day it was off to the Everglades where we did the
tourist thing by taking an air boat ride and Big Louie's for dinner. On March 3
it was the Hometown buffet and on March 4, after breakfast at IHOP the boys went back to Memphis.

My birthday
officially ended th folowing evening when, using a gift certificate I got, Allen
and I went to Il Mulino's. I still have the poem that redwolftimes (Tim) wrote
for my birthday.

Haulover Beach is a nude beach in North Miami Beach and has been there for
years--I don't know blog rules about frontal nudity so if you want to see
those pictures just e-mail me. :o)

Meanwhile here is a
'nude' sea gull--notice Man of War--lower left and upper right--they look like a
blue balloon and have a very long thin tail that can sting you and cause a lot
of pain and possibly a trip to the hospital--at this time of the year you have
to be careful both in and out of the water as they are along all the beaches in
South Florida.

And then we were off to South Beach!!!

On
February 29, 2008 13 of us went for dinner at  Sweet
Tomatoes!

Trust me when I tell you that I had some of EVERYTHING!!!

Salads

Soups, pastas, bread

Strange--I forgot to take pictures of the
desserts--soft ice cream, lava chocolate cake, puddings,
fruits

Now in March 2011 I am
giving serious thought as how to celebrate my 19th Leap Year birthday on February 29, 2012--a bowling
party? A movie party? A cruise around the inter-coastal party? A casino party? I
am open to any and all suggestions!

Looks like you had a super time. Congrats! No suggestions for next year--too far away (until it gets here!).

Too far away??? Are you kidding?? I am competing with all kinds of parties and have to book way in advance! Feb. 29 comes only once every 4 years (in case I haven't gotten that message across) so have to get stared now.
