A Car, Politics, Various Happenings & More

I was thinking that I might drive up to Disneyworld
to see Epcot
and then continue on to North Carolina to visit Cats or maybe just swing down over the 7 mile bridge to Key West not that I will do any of that BUT I can as Allen is going to visit his daughter in Texas for a long weekend and I will
have his car.  Unless you live without a car you have no idea the
freedom having one allows you. Just to know I can go, if I want, to any
of these places gives one a feeling of independence--not having the
money to pay for the gas is something else!

I think most of you know that I am not really articulate when it comes
to politics and I'll be the first to admit that I would lose any debate
regarding the same but at the same time most bloggers know I am open to
learning. I find it very petty of people not to explain something with
facts when asked or to try and put someone down for asking--whether
people like it or not I find Republicans are the most intolerant in
situations like this--they also avoid answering direct questions,
getting verbose like that is an answer. Talking politics I came across
this in the paper today "The late Sen. Joe McCarthy, a Wisconsin Republican, was not known to
respect such niceties as evidence and due process." (IMO he is/was one
of the most despicable politicians in my lifetime.)

*************************************************

With all due respect to teenagers--yes, believe it or not I was one once--okay so it was back in the Ice Age--I, ashamedly admit, I
smile, sometimes laugh aloud, when I read their blogs and all the
'drama'--both girls and boys--write about--the 'broken hearts', the
'should I or shouldn't I', 'my parents hate me', 'I hate my parents',
this girl does that, that boy does this, 'I'm bored'--sorry I don't
remember ever going through any of it and, if I did, making a drama out
of it--I saved the drama for in my 30s!

*************************************************
I came across this web site today--I, vaguely remember reading the
"Final Exit" book, which created quite a scandal when it was published,
and decided to check out the web site. I certainly believe in what they
are doing and what they stand for:
  "Our Guiding
Principles;  Mentally competent adults have a basic human right to end
their lives when they suffer from a fatal or irreversible illness or
intractable pain, when their quality of life is personally unacceptable,
and the future holds only hopelessness and misery. Such a right shall
be an individual choice, including the timing and companion, free of any
restrictions by the law, clergy, medical profession, even friends and
relatives no matter how well-intentioned. We do not encourage anyone to
end theirlife, do not provide the means to do so, and do not actively
assist in a person’s death. We do, however, support any member who
requests it when medical circumstances warrant their decision." When you
have time check out their web site   www.finalexitnetwork.org

*************************************************
A couple of questions I haven't figured out yet. Why do time-sharing companies call me to sell my time share? LOL
Why
do some bloggers have to attack other bloggers by name calling--can't
they blog, get their point across, without the 'street talk'? Also why
do people read blogs, or make comments to/about people, when they know
the person is ignoring them or don't like them? Didn't they get enough
'drama' in high school?

I just lost my dad in January, and I believe he went the way he wanted to go. He wasn't hooked up to a bunch of machines, he died peacefully in his living room of his house. For being almost 89 he wasn't in bad shape, but he was tired and didn't want to go on anymore. I think he saw that the quantity was starting to outweigh the quality in his life

Glad you left a comment--I get worried when you are silent too long! Yes we would all like to go peacefully but it doesn't always happen.

Feels so nice i visited both epcot and Key West last year. About the final end: I totally agree with you

I have the final exit web site in my mouse (so to speak). Thanks for that info. I have discussed this issue with one buddy in particular a few times. He has his plan and the means in place. I don't. The one thing that can really concerns me is if I should become paralyzed. The idea that one has to go without companionship is one thing, but not to receive help when it would be vital is really scary. On the bright side, tho, I might get blown up by a propane tank and the worry will be for nothing....

I have a bottle of pills--I've discussed with a friend what circumstances I would take them and if I wasn't able what he should do--it is quite a burden to put on someone and I'm grateful he agreed. Hope it doesn't come about that way

I like this post, I think you already know the answers to your questions about bloggers so I wont bother...lol. Ending one's life is a very personal choice and should be between you and your maker and nobody else...that's my opinion.

Did you see the pictures???

I, personally, will not spend any time being dependent on others to stay alive--that's my opinion
