When
I wrote the review for Gamaroff's I mentioned about passing an Italian
Ices and Ice Cream place on Federal Highway in Hollywood and we decided
to look for it afterwards and we found it.
It
obviously had been another place before and had just opened as
Rosie's. There was a young, very young, kid behind the counter who had
no idea how to scoop ice cream and and older man (his father? his boss?)
who came to his rescue. I have a feeling it was/is the first kid's job
and I remember having the same type of job during the same in a beach
restaurant in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey. I had vanilla bean and Allen
had butter pecan. I thought mine was creamy he thought his was icy!!
On
Thursday Allen takes me food shopping and we usually stop for a bite to
eat between the Dollar Tree Store and Winn-Dixie. We had to rush a bit
this past Thursday bgecause He had a doctor's appointment so we decided
to go to Einstein Bros Bagels for a quick sandwich as I has a coupon for
$3 off and one for 25% off.
Lately
I have been on a tuna sandwich kick so I ordered one on a toasted
everything bagel while Allen had a turkey sandwich. Both came with chips
and we each had a soda. Even with the coupons they cost about $7+ each.
I've
had better sandwiches, for less money, at Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich
Shop or Subways so though Einstein's wasn't 'bad' I won't be in a hurry
to go back there.
And then somewhere along the line, one day we stopped at Baskin Robbins for a refresher--notice the pink D door knob??
