1st Day of Leap Year Day Celebration

Our high today was only 63 degrees which is why I am not wearing my usual Florida uniform--shorts, short sleeve shirt and flip-flops--with it being very windy it was chilly (I know, I know, YOU wish it was that hot where you are!!) In any case it will be cold when the guys get down tomorrow but will be in the 70s on Friday and in the 80s the rest of the time they are here.

I started off by getting my semi-annual crewcut--decided not to go bald again though it looks like I did!

Allen came over and we decided to try a new chain restaurant that opened here recently called 5 Guys--they are known for their Angus beef burgers with as many toppings as you want and their French fries done in peanut oil--and all the peanuts you can shell and eat-with my cheeseburger and fries I, of course, had a diet coke--okay it was a good burger but whether you ate it there or took it out it all came served in a brown paper bag and when I eat out I want to be served at a table!!

Then what I was looking forward to: my free birthday dessert at Cold Stone Creamery as I have never been there before.

It was called the Founder's Favorite and consisted of vanilla ice cream, brownie bits, pecans, fudge and caramel in a waffle cone--DELICIOUS!!!

Cold weather or not I had to have my ice cream fix!!!

For the record I weighed 186.75 yesterday--let's see what it is on March 6 BEFORE I have to go back on my diet! LOL

It's too cold here in WI to be thinking about eating ice cream yet -- but it sure does look tasty!

Coldstone Creamery is VERY expensive! Be glad it was a free birthday treat. We have here in our area ice cream shoppes called Braums. It is a family enterprise that began in a small town just outside Oklahoma City and now has stores in several states. Their ice cream is made from cream from their own dairy herds and is to die for. And it is so much cheaper than that artificial junk that Coldstone Creamery puts out.

Happy Birthday in advance, Marty!!!! sounds like you had a good time. It's good to let yer hair down and let the diet slide once in awhile. Hey, its yer birthday. You deserve it.. We have a Cold Stone Creamery here, too and its excellent.

enjoy your celebration week! we have a cold stone here, but I have not been yet. I am afraid of becoming addicted.

I sure miss good ice cream.. and to think, when last in Fla, I lived just a few blocks from a Baskin Robbins, with a Coldstone not much further. Sometimes I do miss the city...
