Words of wisdom! I think we all need to print this, stick it on our refrigerator door and read it every day.

In ancient times the tax collector was creative in finding different ways to tax the people....sounds just like present day politicians. Nothing has really changed.

Fall is a beautiful time of the year. We don't have the lovely colors where I am but in the mountans of Georgia the trees are gorgeous. The cool temperatures are a relief from the oppressive heat we have this summer. I had difficulty breathing due to the high humidity. I am flying to Idaho the last week of October to spend time with my granddaughter who is 4 and I am looking forward to some frosty mornings. Hope all is well with your Dad; I can't believe they did not keep him overnight for observation.

He is so adorable. I had an orange cat years ago that my son rescued and we called him Baby Kitty because we were going to try and find a home for him. When he died he weighed about 20 lbs and was still named Baby Kitty.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I love to cook. I'll have corn rather than sprouts, please. Enjoy your day and your family.

Your parents raised a loving, caring daughter and it comes through in your story. Why is it that until something tragic happens there are some people who have a hard time saying the simple words "I love you" to their children. Fortunately for me I came from a very loving demostrative family which provided me with lots of hugs and kisses.

I agree with you on all of the above. Our world is just disintegrating before our eyes. Being raised in the south thank goodness I escaped being a Baptist. Baptists are such hypocrites....I know one who lets her brother-in-law buy her wine and liquor because she does not want anyone to see her coming out of a liquor store but she goes to church every Sunday.

Wow, that is stunning! I think you are right...you should stitch it to the comforter and keep it.

Congratulations! We have never had a Nobel winner from Georgia and probably never will. We head the list in under educated.

I can't believe they are going to make you pay for the stupid map. That could happen to anyone even the teacher. Since you are a good talker, you should convince them it is a defect in the manufacture of the map and that's why it won't retract.

We are a tough bunch. The biggest difference between now and then is my parents were ALWAYS there for me. We all sat down at the kitchen table together and ate supper cooked by my mother. I got my share of fanny smacks but I still knew I was loved even when I behaved like a spoiled brat (I'm still spoiled....just not a brat anymore). Those were good times.

What an adorable little boy! Why is it all boys have such long eyelashes? There is something wrong with that. :)

There is not one politician that has gone into office making an "average" salary who has not come out being a millionaire. They all start to believe theirs is a permanent position which is why we desperately need term limits for all political positions. I am not a Republican or a Democrat; I am just a conservative. If I could ever find a conservative Democrat with an agenda with which I could agree, I would vote for them. Finding a conservative Democrat is like finding a unicorn.
