Its A New Life For Me

Wonderful Weekend

I had a spectacular weekend. I stayed up all night Friday sitting by the fire in the backyard with a friend of mine. We talked all night and it was so fun. Saturday morning we made a store run and came back and made breakfast. I was getting very tired by this time but my mom picked me up and we took off to Eugene for a Mother daughter tea with my Aunt, her daughter and my Grandma. I was told we would be walking to this tea house and to wear comfortable shoes. I wore my aerosole low sandal heals thinking if I could dance in them for 2 hours I could certainly walk in them. I didn't know that it was a 2 mile hike up hills. My feet were killing me! We walked up huge hills and along gravel. We ended up taking the wrong turn and found ourselves up a hill that we needed to be down hill on. We could see the house but had to get down to it. We found a trail that lead down the hill but it was not conducive to heals. I kicked off my shoes and down the trail we climbed. My 80 year old Grandma and me in my heals. It was quite the site. We finally make it down the hill and rocks and arrive at this beautiful home built in 1888. We were served a cup of strawberries, cucumber cream cheese finger sandwiches, broccoli bacon quiche, and wonderful tasty finger treats. It was so nice to spend time together, tour a beautiful home and my favorite part... I got to rest my weary feet!!!! Once we were finished eating we had to head back. I was dreading this part. The pads of my feet were killing me. It takes a lot to keep a pair of slip on heals on your feet! We finally made it back our 2 miles back to my cousin's home. I was so glad to sit down until I started to fall asleep. After having been up so long, and hiking for so long, I was beat. I started falling asleep sitting in this chair. My mom and I decided to head back home. I slept the entire time. We got back home and then I had to meet my ex to pick up the kids so I could spend Mother's day with them. It was so good to see them. They transferred their stuff and away we went. I looked down on the seat and what did I see? A card for me and my mom. I couldn't wait to open it! I was so touched with the thoughtfulness that my ex showed. He really is an amazing guy. I wasn't expecting him to do that. And yes, I cried. This is such a difficult time and he gave us a card. The 17th of this month marks the 1 year anniversary of his Dad's death. It is going to be so hard for him. I only wish I could be there for him. I don't know what to do anymore. I have a card for my mother in law too but I don't know if I should give it to her. She hates me for what I did to her son. After all, she wouldn't even let me in her home. I have one for her anyway but don't know what to do with it. Oh well.

Mother's day I was awakened by my children and a wonderful breakfast. They are so funny. I told them last year that breakfast in bed is not good for me. I have to make a mad dash to the bathroom the second I wake up and I'm not usually hungry for quite a while. It is the thought that counts though and they were so sweet. The rest of the day was very lazy. I stayed in my pj's until noon and then showered and cleaned my dirty house. We went to my mom's for dinner and here I am..... heading to bed to start the week all over again.

Doesn't sound like much has changed in the two weeks I was gone. Hope you're doing well.

I'd skip the card. It's too late now and would just fuel her anger.

It sounds great! Next time when they say wear comfortable shoes, I bet you will heed their advice! Send you MIL the card. At least you will know that you acted well whatever she decides to do.
