I miss having babies!! Don't worry though; I know this house can't hold more than six and I know I'm not emotionally or physically ready and able to bring another baby into the world. But while I'm still in dreamy mode (It's a school vacation after-all)...I might as well dream it up and reminisce about all the things I miss now that my kids are 8 and 12! And I have no nieces or nephews that aren't dogs! LOL So I can't just borrow a baby to get rid of the urge.

The Top 10 Reasons I Miss Having Babies!

1. The pregnancy! Ok there are some parts I don't miss! But I do miss feeling a life inside me, maternity clothes, an excuse to give into cravings!

2. Holding a newborn baby in my arms, not being able to take my eyes off him/her for a second because I want the moment to last forever.

3. Nursing. Although I had to supplement with both my children, nursing is an experience for me that I will always cherish. There is no similar bonding experience than to be able to nourish from your own being. And not just nourish, but nothing soothes a sad, hurt or cranky baby like being at the breast. It soothes a sad, hurt or cranky mommy too.

4. The cute, tiny clothes! Onesies!! Sleepers!! Mini versions of the latest fashions! Shoes and socks that won't stay on! Changing outfits several times a day! Matching blankets with their outfits!

5. The smell of baby powder and diaper ointment (especially Desitin)! These smells put me in a state of relaxation...

6. Giving baby baths in the sink with Baby Magic! Another smell I love!!

7. Singing lullabies and rocking! (It's not the same if you do it without holding a baby and people probably look at you kinda funny)

8. The toys! Babies are so easily amused and baby toys are easily kept in a neat basket! See where I'm going with this one? My kids...not so easily amused! And their toys...every where! And their eagerness to make Mommy happy...very little! (Geesh! I kinda got carried away with that one for a minute)

9. The firsts! All of them! Every day is another first and so exciting because it is the first time YOUR baby did it! I sure spent a lot of money on film and picture developing, because everything was a "Kodak" moment! New Moms in the age of the digital cameras really have it made in this area!

10. The shows! I miss having a reason to watch some of the old VHS videos and childrens' tv series. I used to watch with the kids I watched each episode and tape so many times, I knew every line! I miss the look on the baby's face who'd laugh at me when I sang along and acted silly!

There that's it! Someone quick! Find me a poopy diaper and knock some sense into me! LOL
