Whew, What a Day!

Well we are safe and sound and it seems the wind has really died down. At least I can't hear it. I think the rain might have stopped too. We did make a trip into town for karate. We took the long way as our road was flooded down at the bridge. When we came home I just had to go check it out. I didn't have my camera of course. But the water probably would have come up to the windows on the doors of the car. Had I been one of those idiots who never listens to the news when they say never drive through water, it would have swept my car out into the marsh. Where it would probably stay until it rots. LOL No , I did not go near the water, turned around in a driveway. I saw lots of tree limbs down. Even the highway was flooding, mainly in the turn lanes. And the really crazy part, its only 46 degrees out! Its like winter! The hardest part today was keeping Kota inside. And entertained. But we managed. The stupid schools, they finally closed at noon. Good thing cuz the buses would have been going out close to high tide. Tomorrow it is supposed to clear up and be close to 70. I will have to clean up the yard, lots of trash blew over here. We only lost power one time today and it was only for about 5 seconds. So kudos to the electric company for keeping the power on.
And what is it with people driving in rain. they suddenly lose their brains and drive like maniacs! Driving to karate class was a real adventure, dodging all the kamikaze pilots driving around. I checked the weather just now and just for today we received 1.35 inches of rain. That not counting the rain we had from thursday night through saturday morning.
I am wondering if schools will be delayed tomorrow. I guess it depends when the high tide comes again.
But we are all safe and sound and dry. Maybe tonight I can actually get some sleep. That wind and pounding rain kept me awake most of the night.

Yes, people become maniacs when there is bad weather--it is almost as if they drive crazy they can get home quicker and out of the bad weather!!
We had another 90+ degree day today and it is only the second week in May!!
