I have survived my first week! LOL First of all, I love being back in accounting. I have the same boss I had when I worked there previously and she has not changed at all, which is a good thing. Instead of cursing she says things like, God bless america! I share a big cubicle with the other accounts payable person. She is really nice too and we get along great. She is only 26 but very mature. She has an 8 year old son so we talk about our sons alot. Our department is on the third floor so I take the stairs all day long. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The chairs we have are super uncomfortable for me, no lower back support. So I mentioned it to my boss one day, how I go home every day with a back ache. They want me to run over to the Staples store and try out chairs so they can order me one. There are a few people there who I worked with before and it's nice to catch up with them. The day goes by pretty fast as it's only a 7 hour day.
Driving my jeep to and from work is such a comfort! I feel very safe in it. I didn't figure out how to use the cruise control until yesterday. I stopped by to see my daughter after work and she explained it to me. There is a stretch of my drive that I do not like. Lots of congestion and traffic lights. I found an alternate way around it and might take that next week. Also with warmer weather coming the beach tourists will be invading us on fridays. I have to find a different way home on Fridays because I am not dealing with that traffic!
I was very tired last night, adjusting to this new schedule with my sleeping issues. I intended to really sleep in this morning. When I woke up I layed there for a few minutes and thought, it must be really late. I looked at my clock at it was just after 7 AM. But I guess when you get up at 5:30 that is sleeping in.
Me and hubby take turns making dinner during the week. I asked him last night if I seemed happier. He said only about 2000% more. I am happy. I feel useful again, being able to contribute to the finances of our family.
Dakota had a rough time at first adjusting to this new schedule. He has never handled change very well. But I think even he is adjusting well now.
I won't get paid until the 23rd and that part is killing me! The nice thing is hubby and I are on alternate weeks as far as checks. So each week we will have money coming in. It will be much easier to budget our money.
Now I have to have a new routine on the weekend. Doing laundry and getting everything ready for the work week ahead. I am having some issues with my right shoulder. Last year it was my left shoulder and I had to do physical therapy for it. Something with my rotator cuff. It wasn't torn or anything, I forget the exact description. I am waiting until my health insurance kicks in though. Hubby's is the worse coverage! We have to pay for everything.
Now it's time to enjoy my weekend. Might have to wash my jeep.
I also lost 4 pounds this week!
