Becoming a Teenager

My little Dakota turns 13 on February 26th! And he is not little, he is already taller than me and creeping up on his Dad! His school is having a winter formal dance at the end of this month. A girl he has been friends with for 2 years asked if he was going and texted him a picture of her dress. I told him he better officially ask her to go with him to the dance! So he jumped on his phone and asked her, she said yes of course. She is a real sweetheart, I have met her a few times. She always greets Dakota with a hug! So now I have to go shopping for something for him to wear to the dance. Exciting times!

My daughter who got married last year is trying to get pregnant! I am trying to remain calm but this is super exciting to me. My daughter and I have always had a very close relationship, we tell each other everything. She and her husband will make wonderful parents. My son in law is a wonderful young man and I am glad these two found each other.

We have been having alot of mini snowstorms this year. Usually getting 6 or less inches of snow at a time. You would think we were getting blizzards, my state does not handle snow very well. But better than Atlanta! HAH! I am still hoping for that one big storm this year. February is usually our month for the 'big one'.

Work is going well. I have had to work some overtime due to a team member not doing her work and then going out for 2 weeks with the flu. Her doctor seems to always give her excuses for work! On thursday my supervisor's boss sent me an email and copied our BIG boss on it. She thanked me profusely for all the work I did this past week and for stepping out up to help the team. In my opinion being told you are doing a great job is the highest commendation!

This will be a relaxing weekend for me. No superbowl, we don't really care about football here. I am crocheting a blanket for Dakota and also a baby blanket for the future baby!

everyone have a great weekend and I hope your team wins!

It's so good to hear that things are going well for you, Mary. Seems like just yesterday that Dakota was a little kid, and now look at him, going to school dances.

Mmmmm---he will be 13 and I will be 19 and half--we are growing old!!!

Well, now the teen angst begins but I am glad Dakota is off to a good start
with a date for the dance. What fun to be crocheting baby things.
