I am super excited now buddies! I signed up for tae kwan do last night and will have my first class tonight! I was so excited last night that I could not sleep! LOL I think it will be really fun and kota is also very excited. A couple people noticed I was signing up and they really cheered for me! It felt so good. I told them they have to go easy on me cuz I am old! Last night as part of their warm up they had an obstacle course and had to roll on this mat as part of it. Good Lord, I am going to look so silly at first! And I get so tickled at myself trying things, I will be laughing the whole time. But its good to laugh at yourself right? when I signed up the owner's wife gave me a slightly better price than what she had originally told us. Which I was very thankful for! She really laughed at me when I was filling out the form. One of the questions was your age. I had to think for a moment!
I reminded kota that in class he might be the high belt to me but at home I still rule! He really chuckled at that. It is so neat that he wanted me to join so badly. I will be in the same class as kota. From 5:30 on, all the classes are mixed ages.
At the end of the first class last night kota was running and fell on the mat. At first he thought he was ok, then his knee started hurting and he was crying. Master Reynolds rushed right over to him to check it out. Of course I also moved at the speed of light to check on him. But Master Reynolds said it was the way he fell on his knee and that it was ok. Then kota decided to do the 2nd class. As he walked up there master Reynolds said, kota you are my superhero! Thats why I love this place, they are so encouraging and helpful. No one flaunts that they are better than anyone else. No one teases anyone for making a mistake. They cheer each other on!
I might have to lay in a supply of ben-gay though! I will get a pic of me in my uniform, or dobuk as it is called in Korean!
