Ah Saturdays

We try to fit so much into saturdays, its exhausting. But hubby got the brakes done on my car, tilled up the rest of my garden and did the neighbors also.
I am itching to start planting! Hubby suggested we get a soaker hose for watering the garden. That way I won't have to stand out there watering. So what is the best time of day to water? Early morning, late afternoon, night?
We went shopping yesterday and I bought a bunch of tank tops so I don't have a farmers tan while gardening. I was hoping to sit outside today, reading and getting a tan, but its going to rain. We need the rain, still recovering from last summer's drought. That was a scary situation. We all have well water out here and we had to conserve water all summer. No watering plants either. I was thinking of getting some big barrels to collect rain water in and using that for watering also. Might have to look into that
well I am still waking up so I wil be back later with a more exciting blog.

The barrels sound smart! I think I'll look into that, too. We should all conserve water and that's a great way!

The early morning or late afternoon are the best times to water. Sounds like having a barrel to catch the rain to water your garden is a great idea.

According to the gospel of 'George' my next door neighbour whos soooooo much more than me about gardening (washing, ironing, mechanics, cooking etc, - you know the type!!)it ought to be done before the sun get too hot and at dusk. Obviously, I try to do it at the exact opposite in order to wind him up (I do, do it in the evening as well, for the sake of the plant)

Very early morning, I think for the watering or late evening.

Even thought he drought has eased up a bit I think they should still keep the rules to conserve water in place!
