Down to the Wire
I told you all earlier that my neighborhood was kind of getting closer now and we are helping each other more. Today I took my frail, bent with arthritis neighbor to Aldi's. She has been wanting to go and her daughter will not take her. She looks at their ads constantly and wants to go and get some bargains. I go about every two weeks and invited her to go with me.
I told her last night we were going at ten but she wasn't ready and her little poodle escaped and we had to chase him down. It took her forever to get her groceries and she lost her cane three times in Aldi's...each time the entire store hunted it down, customers as well as staff. When it came time for me to put her groceries on the counter, I noticed that a lot of it was treats for the poodle, a new harness for him and sweet cakes and pies and wine. She explained that when she bought groceries with her daughter, the daughter does not let her have those things because she says they are not needed.
You know I enjoyed outwitting that daughter who never lets her have
anything frivolous and I will certainly take her again. Everyone deserves wine and chocolate and fun things to eat. I wish I could bundle up Tina and we could go clean her house but that would be too pushy. I told my daughter she had better not be that bossy with me and she promised to abstain from grocery advice.
We are most all retired in this neighborhood and all our dogs are a source of joy,,,and cats too. Most of the dogs are friends but there are some big ones who want to engage in battle. Jose wants to bark and growl but he is over ruled. There are quite a few
German Shepherds and one standard poodle and one gorgeous Great
Pyeranese...sorry I have no idea how to spell that but you get the idea.
