Suddenly Cold

Last night, I built a fire in the fireplace and the cozy warmth was very welcome. I had intended to have it cleaned earlier but have been unable to find anyone other than Rusty, the fireplace guy that
lies every time he opens his mouth. we didn't use it over twice last year so I am thinking it is OK.

Ted is at the Toyota dealer getting a new battery installed in the Prius after I talked him out of trying to do it himself. He is not physically able to do it and it is too sophisticated for a lay man to attempt. It is the small battery and not the large, ultra expensive one.

Jose, in spite of his long Pomeranian coat, refuses to stay out
long enough to do his duty. He hates rain and is misty and wet outside. Little fraud hiked his leg and faked it.

I am enthralled with our new site. People are blogging more and we haven't lost our support group. I am so grateful to Eddie and I can tell a difference in the speed.

We are doing OK and the grand children are doing well. I have to applaud Laura for her bravery in tackling New York. She has just moved to Queens..her third move since she has been there. I hope she can come home for Christmas. Adrienne is doing well at O. U.
and working as well as studying hard. Ashley will be leading the band today, as
drum major in the homecoming parade. Hopefully, I will have a picture for facebook. She is almost 6 feet tall so she should look impressive in her white uniform. Ted and I will go and
watch it. Sara is pregnant for the third time and is aspiring for four children.

And That's all folks!!

Queens was my first hometown (Middle Village). We sold the family house in '99 and I haven't been near the City since. But I suppose it's not so bad fro somebody young with energy.

Her address will have it. Our address in Queens did not say, Queens, it said Forest Hills, New York. Let me know when you learn what it is. I'm curious. Yes, Forest Hills is upscale and it is right next to Forest Hills Gardens, a private community, not part of New York City (designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park). You cross into it by going under the Long Island Railroad trestle. When you come out on the other side, you are in a different world. You not only no longer hear traffic noise, you are in bloody OZ. I used to go there to get my fantasy fix.

4 kids! Brave soul...
it’s colder here too and I love it!!! It will soon be too cold so I’ll enjoy this now.

We're expecting 6 degrees for an overnight low on Sunday. I put a reminder on the Facebook pages for people to at least disconnect their water hoses from their houses. It's been so warm here, up until last week, it's hard to believe that suddenly it's going to be so cold.

It seems that we are going from summer to winter and skipping autumn altogether. Thanks for the warning about the hose.

Jose sounds just like my sister's toy poodle, who hated rain and wet grass. It turned suddenly cold here, too, and I was also thinking about a fire because it's nicer than turning on the furnace.

The only time Jose is willing to forego his walk is when it is raining and I am glad that he is so fussy about his feet. Also he is so short that his belly gets wet too.

I love fireplace log fires. The chill air is settling in here in Northwest Ohio, too. Our first frost is expected in the morning. My neighbors were busy today bringing in their potted patio plants. Time for me for get some more furnace filters.

All of those winter chores need doing. I have to bring in the plants and store all the porch cushions. I have a glass wall on the north but there are heat vents on the floor that kill my ferns so I have to give them all away. Most of my neighbors have converted their fireplaces to gas but we love a wood fire.

What part of Queens did Laura move to? Ed's apartment, that I moved into when we married, was in Forest Hills.

It's good you were able to persuade Ted to not do the battery thing. We've hired a guy on a monthly fee, to do all our landscaping. He still hasn't dealt with one bush, so Ed says "I'll do it." I said, "We're paying Remi -- let him do it." Ed is using a cane these days, so he doesn't remember how hard it is to do stuff like that.

Laura and her room mate probably moved into a cheaper neighborhood in Queens. I don't have her address. She is having so many adventures. I wish we were young and could do it all over again.
