It seems that every department store is slashing prices, trying to compete for the holiday purchases. Even the grocery store has a big holiday sale going on tomorrow and extending to the weekend.

Alameda finally got started on my little black dress and it is turning out very well. It is very plain but pleated on one side and it has fancy fingertip length sleeves. It looked very simple but she said it was hard to make. I like the pattern so well that I am going to have it made up in another fabric.
I haven't heard yet whether Sara made drum major. Her earnest wish is to be a band director so it would look good on her resume.
Ted went and got a haircut while I got my dress fitted and we met up at the barber shop. Delores, his barber, is hilarious. She usually has a long line waiting because she cuts hair beautifully and is a lot of fun.
