Read Late and up Early

I started a mystery novel that is so creepy and atmospheric
that I could hardly put it down last night and had to keep
fighting the urge to read the ending to know how it all
turned out.

Then Ted and I discussed the uneasy feeling that we have
about Adrienne and her boy friend, Dakota. They have had
an off and on relationship since 6th grade which become
very on last year. This year they have become very secretive and this is not good.

I have been spending part of the evenings with Bobby. We
are indulging in our passion for British movies. Ellie likes them too but the two teens retire to their rooms.

I keep wanting the bloggers to desert facebook and come back
to us. This is so much more intimate a space. However, I am grateful for those of you are still hanging in there and
writing about your lives.

My comment was too long - I'll do a post about it. I agree that Facebook and Google are the evil empire because their whole purpose is to harvest our personal information to sell to marketers - but in some regards, they are a necessary evil. It's been awhile since I've stayed up all night reading a good book, but it's fun when one of those comes along.

I don't want to see our blog site perish. It has made us fond of each
other and given us the ability to share our lives and get support. It is
a window on our small world. Facebook is no substitute for real human
interaction. That is why I blog when I don't have much to say, just to
contribute something.

I've worried sometimes that this site will be permitted to die. Facebook's horrible and a danger to the public in my opinion. Personal photos and info there get into the wrong hands and databases.
Aside from that -- what kinds of British movies do you watch?

Currently our viewing has been Larkrise to Candleford, a series. It is
wonderful. We have all the episodes of London Hospital after we finish.
The actors are so good. With movies, it is usually period pieces and not
films set in the present time. I get double benefits. I spend time with
my son and his family and enjoy some great actors.

Wow, didn't mean that as extreme as it reads. I just don't like the way that employers and law enforcement use FB as a way to spy on people.

I do not understand the attraction of Facebook -- to me, it is mindless. I use it to post my opinions on the pages of politicians and to find long, lost friends. But I do not use it to keep in touch with friends. Those friends who are not on the blog, there's the telephone (duh). And, of course, e mail. Remember the Christmas Letter? People you knew 20 or more years ago bring you up to date on their children (you have never met), their grandchildren (you have never met). I wrote a parody some time ago. Maybe I'll post it (if I can find it).

Yes, the Christmas letter where it is all sunshine and success! Usually
there is a healthy dose of how God has blessed them. The only one I
have truly enjoyed is the one Laura posts that she gets from a cousin, telling how many lambs she has delivered etc.

Facebook is just easier for quick updates for me... But I do try to post sometimes still. Secretive? I'm loving watching Skylar grow but dreading all this kinda stuff,..

I know how busy you are Kristy and I love your posts. After that little
boy presents himself, you will be busier still. Is there someone close
by that can babysit and let you have a little me time? I relied on Mother's
Day Out at the Methodist Church which gave me 4 hours to see friends and
go out to lunch. You don't have to be a church member.
