The Parade

I am just back from the parade where all I could see in a
sea of black and gold uniforms was my gorgeous grand daughter. She is trumpet section leader and tonight is the
home coming game.

I took Ellie and Ashley out for Chinese and we went on to
the parade. We probably walked a half mile but we found
a shady spot to watch on the street and enjoyed it thoroughly. I was in shape from my daily mile walk so it
wasn't hard on me. We lost Ashley to Ty and Julia and I
am assuming they had a good time.

Adrienne and her friends have decided to go to the prom as
a group instead of with dates but of course she will be
with Dakota any way. This is probably to cut down on
expenses for the boys in the group.

It has been so nice for me to get to know the kids friends. Like most elders, I really enjoy the young and
I most certainly remember what it was like to embark on
the great adventure ahead.

It's lovely to have some close ties to your family and to be living near each other to make it all happen.

Yes, it is wonderful. The only way it could be better is if my daughter
lived in this neighborhood too. Pictures of Adrienne are on my face book
page.

I think it's so great that you are so involved in their lives ... I barely knew my grandparents because we lived to far away.

My grand parents were a big presence in my life and I hope to always
remain in their hearts.
