Last Night in New Orleans

No, not really. We have a fantastic musician who directs
the high school jazz band. He has seperated them into
two groups and fortunately Adrienne plays trumpet in the
best group. Last night he turned them loose and let them
play just like they were playing someone home. They
surged into the aisles and raised the rafters. They
transported me to New Orleans which has always been one
of my favorite cities, and made me think I was on
Bourbon street, just waiting to go to Brennan's for a
bloody mary and an elegant breakfast.

Earlier, I watched a bit of Suddenly Last Summer with
Elizabeth Taylor and Kathryn Hepburn when I went over
to Bobby's house. It hardly seems fair for Elizabeth
Taylor to have gotten that face, that body and acting
talent as well. Bobby and I are devotees of T. Williams
plays.

Bobby's health is so much worse. He really had to push
himself to get to the concert last night. He tries to
take the girls out for a little father-daughter time
when he is up to it. Making memories.

Elizabeth Taylor and I were the same age. I did not envy her. She was emotionally ill for most of her life and drugs shortened her life. Also, as she aged, her beauty coarsened. Too much, too soon. Bobby has my respect and sympathy, as do you. My thoughts are with you.

I really need sympathy and support today. The Gods heaped it all on
Elizabeth Taylor and it must have been hard to handle. I was terribly jealous of Shirley Temple. My scrawny stringy haired self with hand me
down clothes just couldn't stand to watch her dance around in curls
and white boots. It is funny now but my aunts and uncles insisted on
taking me to her movies.

Like any mother, I made a lot of mistakes but I raised two great,
intelligent and compassionate human beings. I am awed by the bravery in
which my son is facing severe pain and confronting his mortality.

the concert sounds like it was fun so sorry about Bobby, I can only imagine how you feel.

The concert was a needed break for all of us. The rip roaring music
was just what we needed to banish sadness for awhile.

Ugs. I feel for you on the Bobby front.
Glad the Concert moved ya back to New Orlean! I haven't ever been but Ron says it's a must visit...

New Orleans is a must! Save it for your second honeymoon. The long
goodbyes are hard but at least we have time to cherish Bobby and let him
know how much he is loved. It is doubly hard to be saying Goodbye to
Ted as we know him at the same time.
