Garden Dreams and One Green Tomato

I have been obsessed with planning my garden. I finally
purchased the last perennials for it this morning while I
was grocery shopping. I got Salvia and Dianthusa. I think
the purple and pink will b e pretty together.

I have little yellow squash coming up and need to plant more. I planted some garlic that had started to sprout
in the refrigerator and it is growing well.

We are supposed to have one more freeze and some dicy weather tonight. It is very humid outside and I had to
put the more delicate hanging plants in the garage. I hope
it doesn't freeze because it is pretty labor intensive to
cover everything up but worth it to have an early start.

I have one tomato plant and it has a tiny green tomato on
it. I am so proud of it. The other one that I was
nurturing may have died. It was on the north and evidently
was not covered well enough during the recent cold.

Does anyone else despise the vacum clearer as much as I
do? It is my most hated chore. Fortunately, Ted has
figured out how to do it from his power chair. I was
always sceptical of those chairs but his has given him
a degree of independence that amazes me.

Love hearing that Ted's chair has been so helpful and welcome! What joy that gives me! As for vacuuming, I have a huge spring cleaning chore ahead as soon as my family travels subside in May, so my Oreck and I will be seeing a lot of each other. In just a few weeks, my favorite farmers' market reopens for the season, so I'll soon be able to quench my desire for fresh flowers and produce. I do miss my garden.... Your flower selections will be so pretty!

I don't mind vacuuming unless it's the stairs. That part I hate!
I have started my garden as well. I am hoping that one or two of the 12 things I planted produce something!

P.S.: Can I borrow Ted? I have a lot of vacuuming to do and I will even pay his air fare to get it done. :-)

What is it about your posts that always makes me feel alive and vibrant? Maybe the way you cling to the cycles of life and bend them to your will.. like with your early plantings? You amaze me!!!

I am so glad to see you back with us. Have you been painting? I check
every day to see if you have been on this site. We miss you .

Way to go with the planting! I finally have green grass and a few things sprouting, including garlic which we plant in the fall around here. A guy gave me 60 garlic last fall. Plant half, eat half, which we did. Can't believe I used 30 head in no time.

It just occurred to me that I could plant all that sprouting garlic in
the refrigerator. We love fresh garlic so I can understand your using
30 heads up fast.

Yes, I hate to vacuum and it really bothers my back. A vacuum cleaner salesman once asked me how often I vacuum, perhaps hoping to lead into a plus for his product -- buy it and I wouldn't have to do it a lot. I said, oh, maybe once a year. He didn't have an answer for that. Glad Ted has something that helps him feel more involved and autonomous.

Losing your independence is a real bummer and I am glad that Ted has gained
a measure of it back. I have a Kirby that I loathe. It was not made for
womankind.

I am so very glad that chair has perked up Ted. It's as if he has a new reason to live, and if vacuuming is part of it, then that's a real bonus.

It is a bonus for me as well. I keep breaking belts...I am not mechanically
inclined. Your snow is fabulous.
