I Have Failed Woefully

I got up this morning preoccupied with my tasks for the day.
I needed to water in the front and back yards before it
became one hundred degrees. My son had chemo today and
I promised him I would make potato soup for him and his family because he has a hard time keeping solids down and I
wanted to make homemade rolls and cookies for them too.
I enjoy helping in whatever way that I can.

I love to make bread. There is something so satisfying about seeing the perfect and elastic dough emerge from
the ingredients. Needless to say, the bread was my
waterloo. I could not resist it and blew my low carb
diet again! A crusty slice, swimming in butter did me
in.

Cooking is part of the joy I have in life. I suppose it is
because it is creative. It makes me happy just the
way that gardening does. It is a darn shame that I
pile on the pounds. Life is not fair!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself. No one could resist a taste of warm, fresh baked, homemade bread.

I had more than a taste and it was generously buttered!

I love creating it and eating it too!

Think of all the good you did with that soup and fresh bread for the family, plus the time away from all your worries.

Cooking, gardening and reading take my mind off our present troubles.
Each day that goes smoothly is savored.
