While out walking Jose, I met some interesting new neighbors, Don and Delores. They had just bought a house that had been vacant for awhile.
It is very hard to judge age but I thought that they were at least ninety. They are engaged and plan to live together without marrying for awhile. Delores confided that it was going to take them a long time to get properly
moved in. Don is using his scooter with a trailer to move a few things every day it is warm enough.
It was warm enough yesterday to walk Jose and again they were moving two or three items at a time
via the scooter and trailer.
I really admire their spirit and am tickled at their desire to defy convention and live together for a while. Instead of sinking into helplessness, they are making life worth while for themselves. I hope my sweet neighbor who just lost his wife will find himself a "fiance" soon. Of course I am probably older than they are but I love their spirit and can do attitude. I am
betting that they will get moved in sooner than they think if sheer persistence is a factor. Imagine just
moving at a snails pace.
