Christmas in Branson
We just got home from a three day trip to Branson, Mo and we are luxuriating in being lazy. We went on a senior bust tour and were very disappointed in the travel company. I do believe it was the worst motel I have ever stayed in. We had to walk the entire length of the third floor to get to our rooms, my cousin called it the walk of the lame and she was right. The best part of the trip was being with my sister and my cousin.
We saw three shows, two of them fantastic and the Dixie Stampede which was really a display of trick riding and barrel racing. We were constantly eating or having food thrust upon us. one woman on the trip brought home made fudge in different flavors. At the Dixie stamped we were served dinner which consisted of a whole rotisserie chicken, corn on the cob, a baked potato, biscuits and an apple turnover. I could hardly eat any of it, even though it was delicious because we had hardly any room after being stuffed all day. It was a terrible waste of food.
I didn't do much shopping. I bought santa hats for Adrienne and Ashley and an Amish soup mix for Ellie. They kept Jose for us.
Speaking of Jose, he did not eat the entire time we were gone. When we got him home he climbed in our bed and sulked for a couple of hours and then ate and cuddled after he got over his snit. This was more cat like than dog like, I thought. Dogs are usually more forgiving.
I did buy local honey at the Amish store and a spinach dip mix as
well as the soup mix for Ellie. I hope the Santa hats with a twirling top are not too unsophisticated for the girls.
