It Ain't Always What it is Cracked up to Be

I have been so surly about my health insurance company. They
forced me to go to an opthamologist to have my eyes checked
and they insisted on sending a Doctor to my house which I
thought was very intrusive and resented greatly. This morning
was time for his visit.

Rather than being an invasion of my privacy, they sent a
delightful young man so crisp and well groomed that he almost
sparkled and since he was full of jokes we got along like
a house afire. I wished that he could have stayed longer
because we had so much fun.

We surprised each other. He was expecting an old lady creeping about in house slippers and I was expecting a dour
guy with no personality.

Then I got a great surprise when the mailman came so a
good day became a great one. It just doesn't pay to have
pre-concelved ideas.

Yes, my insurance company just sent a nurse-practitioner to me house too! Wonder what that is all about?

What a happy surprise!!! And how great that you were not so set on your preconceived ideas that you couldn't appreciate it!

What a great story! I must admit I would be happy to have a doc come to me, although I guess that adds in worrying about how the house looks etc... I am glad it turned out completely fantastically!

I think it is sort of a check on your primary care physcian. Of course, it
could be because I will soon be 84.

How nice you had a pleasant surprise. I get along really well with my internist. Actually, except for my gynecologist, who has a personality so laid back, you think she is not in the room with you, all my doctors are very pleasant, especially those at Moffitt.

I have had the same Dr. for 30 years and he is a sweetheart. we still go
back to Shawnee for our Dr. and our vet.

Nice surprises are such a joy — and how true that preconceived ideas trip us up!

Yes, we really miss a lot because of preconceived ideas. A person needs to
try new things.

A nurse comes to the house Monday, Wednesday and Friday to service Donna's wound vac (for which we are grateful not having to travel 3x week). She used to be a haircutter before she switched careers and she a down-to-earth country gurl. Lives on a back road more rural than where we are. Hopefully we'll see her around after Donna is healed. You must have good insurance!

I am happy with my insurance although it is too expensive. I guess they
all are. Glad Donna has a nurse visiting her. I imagine that was tough
surgery.
