We in domain sales pretty much predicted it: Epik, the registrar whose owner I’ve mentioned before, has just accepted the domain name for the site 8Chan, which left its old registrar because they expect trouble. The owner of Epik, Rob Monster, just posted a statement to this effect, and that he’s thinking about offering them anti-hacking protection services, too, just like he provides Gab.com with.

8Chan is the site where the last couple of mass shooters were found to be posting racist, pro-violence messages — and they were encouraged by other posters.

I’m not sure how much free speech for these guys Rob Monster is going to provide before he finds himself sanctioned by government. It will almost certainly depend who is governing. He looks like an aged Opie of Mayberry, and seeing his photo on forums about domaining is now disturbing.
