I am tempted to comment on the feminist issues in this link, below. I shouldn't, I know. However, it does drive me up a wall that people are so unforgiving of extra weight, and that so many men continue to call women "girls" all their lives and talk about them as if they were all contestants in beauty contests and should be evaluated as such. These men seem to see females first and foremost as potential sex partners and so will apply their own particular standards to them without thinking of them simply as people. But I think most of us do see men as people, first. I wish women got the same benefit.

Donald Trump is a case in point for everything that is wrong with the
world but especially for his despicable attitude toward women.

I stop calling a female "girl" when the braces are removed. Women are ladies, to me, always. Sexist men make terrible husbands. It is a shame too many ladies don't learn that soon enough.

I see no big problem with the word lady (or gentleman, for that matter). Both indicate courtesy and respect, which is what I think is needed.

It reminds me of the time I heard a Rush Limbaugh broadcast back in the 1980s and he was saying that any women who wanted to call in to his show had to first submit a photograph because he refused to take calls from ugly women. I think there is some weakness in the ordinary-looking and sometimes downright ugly men who like to publicly disparage women who don't meet their alleged high standards for appearance. Somehow, that makes these men better looking in their own minds.

Yes, he's just a great all-around human being, isn't he? I figure he and Ann Coulter are pretty much the same since they're both financially motivated to be objectionable.

One look at Rush's photo and they would change the channel. LOL

Gave this some thought, girls is a term I often use when addressing my granddaughter and nieces, how ya goin girl is one way , any man would admire a well dressed attractive woman , some sexually others not, as a matter of fact I have told some total stranger that they look very very nice , where's the harm in that , i'm not chatting her up just paying a compliment and its nice to get a smile back by doing so . I will concur that there are men as you say , especially when looking for a partner it would be a bad world if they didn't. have known women who act the same

I try to keep in mind that -- there are 2 sexes, and we should be allowed to be attracted and be able to say so in a decent manner; the generation you're born into had its own rules and we kind of stick to them. But for true equality women should be complimenting male total strangers on the street and expecting the male to simply smile and be pleased at a compliment. I don't see that happening unless the woman who made the compliment is young and attractive. Social equality has gone backwards about 30 years, I think.

As long as you would also tell a male total stranger he looks very very nice.
