Wakefield News

The image is one of Hillsborough County's water reservoirs.

Remember me saying I was rear-ended in my car? My lower back is killing me. I can't stand for more than a minute, not even to do dishes, etc. Right now it is terribly inconvenient because I accepted a new roommate and I have a lot of stuff to sort and put away- everything that was stored in that front bedroom. For now, it is in piles in my bedroom as I find space in my closet and move other stuff out to store or to give to the Salvation Army.

Having a roommate will serve two purposes. 1.) If I "fall and can't get up", someone will know to call 911 or tell my son. 2.) The extra income will help me pay off some debt. My new roommate will only be here four nights a week. She lives with her daughter in Orlando where she owns a house. The company she works for transferred her to Tampa and pays her a housing allowance, and renting from me is cheaper than staying in a hotel. Hopefully, this will work for a few months anyway.

I wrote a post two days ago but got sidetracked and closed my browser before hitting "post article". That one was probably more interesting than this one about a new roommate!

She is a lovely, respectful person.

I was happy to hear your roommate is a woman. I can't imagine me having a boarder. Good luck. Hope your back improves. Ugh.

This should work out fine. She leaves the house early, gets home late and retires early, goes home on weekends.

The roommate sounds as though she might be a good companion for you. I hope you have contacted a lawyer and a doctor about your back injury.

No lawyers or doctors. I did not even ask her for her information. Missed opportunity- she drove an expensive looking car!

I think this is a wonderful solution to economic problems and it will be good
for you to have someone around the house. Try to rest as much as you can.

It did motivate me to get some badly needed cleaning done.Yes, I am hoping this will help me clear some debt.

No doctor. Don't need an MD to tell me this is lower back strain and sprain. Familiar with the symptoms. I suffer from a chronic back injury, but this is lower than my chronic pain. This too shall pass- eventually!

Well, that is good news, at least. I hope it settles down soon.

Beautiful picture! The red jacket and bird really make the composition. I put my back out years ago from a bad computer angle/chair at a new job, and couldn't get any rest, just couldn't find a good angle where it didn't hurt, so I can imagine what you are going through. Sounds like a good roommate arrangement, just about perfect, as those things go. Hugs to you, Dottie.

That's a great picture... reminds me of the pre-summer we had before it snowed last night. Good luck with the back pain...

How funny- "pre-summer", though likely you aren't laughing!

I am so sorry to hear that your back pain is continuing. It sounds like it is really creating a challenge. Has the doctor had any suggestions for easing/relieving the pain?
Good for you in getting a roommate. That can really add some interest into your live if it is the right roommate! I hope it works out really well.
