Tinkering

Before and after... I am learning how to do all sorts of things in Photoshop... like very natural changes to eye and hair color in photographs. Oh, I could always change them, but these are new techniques. What started me on this new path of exploration is a set of screensavers within Win 7- photographs by German photographer Mathias Kentrup. His photographs have these beautiful gold and lavender skies and others are images filled with deep browns, brooding and beautiful. I went through some of my old photographs and experimented with different adjustments trying to duplicate some of his effects. I had some success with a few photographs. Of course they have to be fairly decent photos to start out with, and most of mine are "grip and grins".
Here is a scene with a gold and violet sky. This is Tampa's "Channelside".

It is 'tinkering'. If I were truly talented, I'd be making money doing this.

It was a lot of fun. Trouble is, I don't have enough landscape photos from which to work.

Yes, this is deepening my interest in landscape photography.

That sky looks like something we'd see in a beautiful old masters painting, gives the modern shops more dignity.

When you have nothing else to do search the name Mathias Kentrup. His work is beautiful!! Landscape photography is art so the artist/photographer can make adjustments- like tones and colors. That is something that is not allowed in news photography. I think I would like to do less news and more landscape photography.

At least it is motivating me to get out more with my camera.
