The last few days I have done everything except what I am supposed to... again. Been making a habit of that lately. I painted this as one of two COCAP (Coast Guard Fine Art Program) submissions in January 2009. It is an Auxiliary vessel maintaining a perimeter during a shuttle launch. Recreational boaters are not permitted to sit and watch directly under the shuttle's path for safety reasons, so the Coast Guard maintains the perimeter and often this task is delegated to Auxiliary vessels. I think possibly the AUX vessel is too small for the foreground, but I do not have time to paint it again. There is always the option of putting a USCG FAST boat (those hard inflatable red boats) in the background closer to the shuttle- or I could just leave it the heck alone. What do you think?
P.S.: This one is in oils.
