More PC Woes

I could not get online yesterday. Internet Explorer disappeared. It is not in my programs menu and I could not access "Internet Options" through either the control panel or the registry- but it is on my PC somewhere! I know, because when I try to re-install it, it tells me a newer version is already installed and aborts installation. Fortunately, I had the Firefox download on my external hard drive and was able to install it. I always preferred Firefox, but Explorer 9 came with the Win 7 installation. IE never worked right here on MyBloggers- my boxes 'swam' and the text appeared to overwrite. I could only write a longer post (like my last one) by doing it in Word and copy and pasting it here. Welcome back to Firefox! I can actually see what I type!

I have had so many PC issues lately that I know I will have to reformat my hard drive soon. I dread that! Wish there was an easier way to get rid of errors. I don't know why I dread it so much. Guess because to reinstall Windows and all of the programs I need will take the better part of two days- two days in which nothing else gets done.

Happy Independence Day, America!

Maybe see if you have a virus or something? It doesn't sound right. I hope it all works out for ya.

It is not a virus. I have Norton 360 installed and run Super Anti-Spyware every few days because Norton ignores a few "benign" cookies. I think it is cumulative errors.

I had to trash Firefox recently and use Apple's Safari. No problem now.

I like Firefox. Never tried Safari.

Had I not installed Firefox, I would not have Internet access because Internet Explorer whacked out on me.

Somehow when Ted installed Adobe Acrobat, it wouldn't let me use Microsoft
Task Launcher. My computer is only 2 years old...an xp so he is going to
have to figure it out.

PCs can be so problematic. I have two desktops and one laptop for when things go wrong. I must have a PC working at all times because of all of the publications that I do.

Internet Explorer on both my PCs - an XP and a Win 7 - displays the MyBloggers interface very erratically with the problems that you mention. I suppose the MyBloggers software needs to be updated to work with how the newer browser versions work.

It was so annoying! The problem on MyBloggers disappeared when I installed Firefox. Also- IE froze and locked up a lot. I have no idea why.
