News is Sickening

The news down here is non-stop Casey/Caylee Anthony. The trial opened today. The defense claimed Caylee accidentally drowned in the family pool, and that Casey was sexually abused by her father which why she lied to the police. There was also the implication that the father knew about the 'accidental' death and possibly helped dispose of the body. They surely went out of their way to make him sound culpable in Caylee's disappearance by accusing him of having an affair with another woman at the time of Caylee's death. This is the man who mortgaged his home to the hilt to pay for his daughter's defense! Utter depravity and disregard for life and for others. I want to gag every time I hear or read the news.
What about the hundreds who died in yesterday's tornadoes in Missouri? They don't matter? That is not more newsworthy that this lot of depraved human beings? I actually have to channel surf to find out anything about their plight.
Can you tell I'm pi--ed?

Because the trial is in St. Petersburg, we hear it 24/7- blow by grisly blow.

There is a cable news outlet that used to be called "Headline News," and got switched to a gossip programming channel now called "HLN." The channel has "celebrities such as Nancy Grace, a former jurist who nags on the same kind of stories constantly, fulfilling the justice system's nightmare of jury pool tampering. Another lady with a similar program is a once-reporter from an LA TV station who was fired for romantic collusion with an inside source witness during a 1990's trial out in LA of a family charged falsely with child molestation in their day care center. Who watches such crap? News is not news anymore. It has become entertainment for the depraved.

I get a kick out of Nancy Grace. Not only does she never change her hairstyle, but she never seems to change her clothes either!

I don't know the extent of the damage here last night but have seen the
photos from Joplin. The press only wants sensation and is pandering to
the public desire for sexual scandal. What kind of mother
could kill her child?

I am donating through the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Fund. Many Auxiliary members have lost their homes, yet they stay busy with rescue and peripheral assistance. I will likely donate to the Red Cross later too. It is just horrible.

That's what I think.

Why is none of the officials going there for support.
I know that Obama is going there Sunday and why are they waited so long.
Where is Biden. What the hell is he doing.Does he do anything there.
He should get off his ass and visit Joplin.Do something folks.

Obama will be there tomorrow. Never thought about it before- what does Biden do?

Everything about the case is horrible. While I am all for making sure justice is served, I see no reason for the grisly 24-hour coverage that is taking place. Sadly, the press is harping on what it knows will really get ratings.
I am not sure why so little coverage is being dedicated to the tornado victims. It is really sad because coverage helps bring about more giving and support and folks in Missouri are really going to need a lot of both.
