In Florida, we have to have good, non-electric kitchen gadgets like peelers, can openers, mixers (a traditional egg beater), food choppers, etc. We often loose power during/after tropical storms and hurricanes so they are an absolute necessity. Off the top of my head, I don't know what my favorite gadgets are, but the microwave is high on the list.
Yes, life does have a way of beating up our bodies. As long as our minds stay in tact...
Your love of life is infectious!
Watch that mint. It is an insidious creeper. It took me more than ten years to clear it from a bed.
Is the bike yard art? Is it attached to the tree?
Tell Mike he is my hero for saving the baby deer. Yes, these things are unpredictable, powerful and scary!
Oh, I agree with you 200%!!! We age because time moves forward- not because we are weak or fail to care for ourselves. It has always bothered me that male baldness is treated like something horrible that must be fixed/reversed- while one of the most popular hairstyles for younger men is a shaved head. (Personally, I love bald men- Patrick Stewart, where are you, my love?) On the other hand- I am not ready for my own gray hair and continue to dye the roots brown. Does that make me a hypocrite? No, seniors today DO NOT look like people did at our age 50 years ago, but we still age!
You made me laugh talking about the mockingbird. One lived in my front tree and he/she would dive-bomb us every time we tried to leave the house. That darn bird used to chase my dog and attacked the mailman too.
Happy Father's day- and that is a great shot of Rex. Too bad Jeri has her face covered... laughing?
What a winning young man. He should go far in life and make many friends. (I only count friends- not the inevitable enemies.)
You definitely are fit for your age- for any age!
Yes, I remember how happy I felt surrounded by family...
Black and white kitty? I tried FB- did not like it, then started using it again to see photos of my grandsons. My son does not send me pictures. He says if I want to see photos my grandsons, then I can look at them on FB. Now, I know my way around better.
Wow- this is a recipe I will try. Love fried chicken but not the fat.
It is so nice to hear someone talk lovingly about their father. Bless you- and him for being the kind of father you could love and be proud of!
