I parroting AJ...we have Youth Pride, Inc. here, which seems to be quite similar. Other organizations, not GLBT specific, also serve and assist with full cooperation and effort as they are designed to do so equally for all.
Just a little FYI for you... filming for Hachiko: A Dog's Story is not yet completed. No word on possible presence of Joan Allen or Richard Gere, but filming has resumed in my neighborhood.
I guess this can be considered a case of "sour grapes", but I can understand hard feelings of some sort when a person is led to believe something and then passed over. I'm sure you saw Mario on the Tony Awards, huh?
I'm glad she looked before sending the kids out! Cute, though, huh? Ever hear of the Teddy Bear's Picnic? I guess these bears wanted to take it up an extra notch and get in some neat play time!
I can see the friendship in the picture...it's like it's saying "united we stand". You are lucky to have a REAL best friend because who a lot of people get to call a best friend is just somebody they've known a long time or see most often, but nothing that constitutes a true all-encompassing bonding. I know you will miss her while she's gone, but not really miss her because her friendship is always with you, and you have her return visit to look forward to.
I know that such bullying has existed in this area because it existed to some degree even when I was in school. But, I understand that it has become an increased problem here over the last 5-8 years. When the two towns regionalized into one school system, it joined the bullies from each town into one general location to bully two town's worth of kids. Anyway, a lot of the bullying also exists on the buses, en route while students are walking or biking to/from school, and outdoors when various functions (sports, concerts, plays, dances) are going on, making it much more difficult to monitor and control.
So happy to hear everything is working again. I hate when there are computer-related problems of any kind.
It does sound like you had a great weekend! That colleagues day sounds like it was pretty fun, I enjoyed reading about that. Hey, I've caught some of the games on TV, but have not caught an "orange" game yet. Shame on me!
I love playing on MySpace, but I seldom go there more than three times a week. I change the look of my page according to my mood, seasons, or holidays. I have friends on there that I knew from pre-MySpace days who just happen to be MySpacers, too, but I've met some real nice friends, too. My most recent MySpace friends are four people I originally met in Blogster. I also have two friends that originally met in the Pogo gamesite. And, of course, Edie is on MySpace (which is a little surprising to me), so there's some online fun between us, too.
Again, you added to my belief that Wii is fun!
I'm a little familiar with Lebanon thanks to some Lebanese friends and a little I learned when training/learning to be a travel agent. The friends I have (and others I briefly met and conversed with at gatherings) are extremely friendly people who all seem to have great family pride and pride in their work. Some of the tales and legends that come from that country are quite fascinating.
Norton is hysterical and the show is as hysterical if not more. I've only seen the show a few time, but I loved it.
Congrats on the successful book sale! I know they are great fundraisers and what better could a library sell?
I'm working my way up to it.
No, I moved, but say hello to Cowinthemeadow for me, will ya?
