until the kids go back to school. I'm going freaking insane from their fighting and nasty voices.
Lots of things going on here. My name was in the National Post for the race I got 1st in my age group. Cool! I found the video of the race and watched myself run. Ugh. Don't like how I look.
Lots of shake ups at work. I asked for extra hours, and received slightly less - including on a day that I can't work. That was fixed, and starting... sometime, I'll be working 20 hours/week instead of my 15.5 right now.
I dropped a heavy post on my heel, and hurt myself pretty bad. A big scrape on my heel, and probably badly bruised too. I ran on it anyway, and it bled. Oh well, it's getting better now.
DH had the week off, and the week has ended with him taking the kids overnight and leaving me home. It was that bad.
We went to Canmore, and I made them go hiking. A 2 hour round trip hike on a rough trail up to Grassi Lakes. The kids did great. Better than I thought they would do. Then we did a river float that lasted just over an hour. It was beautiful, but oh so boring! Of 3 rafts of 8 people, they were the only kids. Next time, we will do whitewater with them.
We also did all 3 tours at the Atlas Coal Mine near Drumheller. The tours were climbing the wooden tipple, riding the train, and going inside the mine. The tipple was the best of the 3. Yes, I'll put up pictures eventually. And we visited the hoodoos and climbed the badland hills a bit.
Tomorrow I'm going to a free running clinic in town. No idea what it's going to be about, but hey, it's free. They are also going to have stand up paddling boarding, so I might try that too. I'd love to get a paddle board, but they are freaking expensive, starting at $600!
I'm doing a 10k run next weekend. I'm not really trained for it, so I don't think I'll be placing in my age group this time. And my fitness instructor running partner didn't register. :( Ran 10k today, slowly, so the distance isn't a problem, its doing it with speed that I'm not ready for.
