I'm in race training mode.
I signed out a year's worth of Runner's World magazines from a library (the woman who signed them out was slightly taken aback that I took ALL their magazines!) LOL! It's taking a while to read through them, even with skipping articles the don't interest or apply to me. I'm getting lots of good information and simply "background" on running and training.
Yesterday, I did the hard step aerobic & weight lifting class taught by K. K and I ran together for a while, then ran in the 10k race in July. She isn't running anymore. :( Her foot hurts. Humph. I had 3 injuries to one foot at one point, and I still ran on it. :P
I'm sore from that class. Mostly upper body, but some leg soreness from walking lunges.
So I went for a long run today. The 11.2k route of the race I'm training for to be exact. It felt pretty good. Last year I ran it in 1:11. My goals are to beat that time, hopefully being under 1:00. My time today was 1:05, so beating is almost a sure thing, but getting under 1:00 will be a stretch.
8 more days!
I'm so impressed and proud of you.
