Little Fockers, Doctors, Remember Me and Other Stu

For my second movie afternoon of the week, I saw Little Fockers. Yeah, I know. It wasn't my first choice but it was the earliest movie that I had any interest in seeing - I have to make sure I have enough time to get home before the school bus drops off the kids.

And, surprise! I liked the movie. "GodFocker" LOL! Don't let the title put you off, it's all in fun. But I needed a mindless fun movie, and this one certainly fit.

That evening I watched another movie at home after everyone else went to bed - Remember Me with Robert Pattison (the only reason I was interested in it). Oddly, I don't particularly like Robert Pattison, but I love Twilight, so...

The movie is slow and boring. I was seriously considering shutting it off, but held out until the end. And it's not until the end until you figure out that perhaps that's why the film is called Remember Me? Spoiler! Robert Pattison is in the WTC when the airplanes hit. And that's the end. Lovely. Snore.

Back to the real world, I met with a "new" doctor today. I've actually seen her a few times for the kids when she was in a different clinic. We had a nice talk, and she actually talked quite a bit about herself! I now know exactly where she lives (close enough we could be considered neighbours!), and that the doctor at the old clinic just got married (didn't know that he wasn't married...). She's older, maybe in her 50's, overweight, but not obese, east Indian, but speaks perfect English, and wants to help other east Indians, but also said that I should sign up to be her patient. :) I like her, but I'm still going to go visit with the new woman doctor at the other clinic. If I have the opportunity to have a choice in doctors, I might as well take the chance. Many people in Canada can't find a doctor at all - and here I have my choice of 3! Of course, one is a man, so he's out of the running.

I did get my 3 runs in this week, and now it's snowing and cold so who knows when I'll get out again. In 3 runs, I've had 2 contacts with dogs! Yikes! First dog appears out of nowhere, I stop, start talking to it, it sniffs my leg and runs off. Second dog, just this morning, is in a field, starts barking, and slowly approaches. I slow to a walk, and start talking to it. It follows me, getting closer. There are two other dogs at the closest house that are barking, so a guy comes out, and walks into the field - but isn't calling this dog. Might not be his - this dog is BIG, but THIN with huge paws, and backbone sticking out. He's not acting aggressive, more worried curious. Eventually I get past the house, and the dog backs off, it came within 10 feet of me, so I start running again. I may have to run a different route with fewer houses (and dogs).

I agree that those fockers movies are entertaining, but wish they didn't resort to such a tacky name to get attention.

Loose dogs can be so frightening. While in Salmon Arm, I had my baby in a Snuggly and the middle child in a stroller when I was bitten by a rather large dog. Maybe that's why I'm a cat lover.
