The RCMP never did pick up my video of the fire this weekend. But there was an RCMP vehicle parked at the driveway of the burnt house all weekend.
I talked a little to the reporter from the local paper. I didn't give them any pictures or tell them anything personal about the family. I know way more about them now than I did before. Some of it bad. :(
One of the people telling me the bad stuff, I made it very clear to her that the father of the family did everything he could to get his family out of that house. He would have gone in after his son, and died, if someone wasn't holding him back.
Anyway, I got a call from the RCMP at work today. He asked if anyone had picked up the video - he had left instructions for someone to do it, but they didn't.
So he did come pick it up from me after work. I do hope it's the last time I see him. He asked if he got me in trouble at work the other day. No, not really. He's nice (and yes, even handsome), but I'd rather not have to see him again!
I think about the fire a hundred times a day. I look over at the house a dozen times a day. I think the father was at the house this evening. I saw him walking around. And just standing for a long time looking at the remains of the house. I hope it gets removed soon.
They are getting lots of support from the community, church, school, family and even insurance company.
