I only had to scream at the kids once or twice. Actually, both of them had meltdowns at some point, so there was some bad parts.

Friday, Canada Day, I ran 10k in the morning with K. In the evening we went to movie in the park. There was some activities and birthday cake and the firefighters handed out stuffed animals. Then there was a magician, bouncy horse races, hula hoop contest, dancing (chicken dance) and the movie started at 10:30pm. It was Rango. I fell asleep. Sleeping was more interesting than the movie. It got so cold before the movie that I sent DH back home to get our winter jackets! We got home at 1am.

Saturday was DS's 10th birthday. We played minigolf. I got a hole in one! And I won overall. And I don't even like golf. Weird. We had dinner at Red Lobster, and DS liked his gift of a shaving bag stuffed with $40, movie tickets for the last Harry Potter movie, toothpaste, nail clippers, shower gel, toothbrush & soap containers, book, tic tacs...

Sunday (today), we went to the cabin. I went for a run right away, but it was so hot (29c) that I only did 5k instead of 10. Discovered the spring has "sprung" and there was water all over the road. I took the kids out for a bike ride to the spring and investigated. There are now several springs coming out of the hill, and was able to find a hole in the hill where the water is flowing out of it. Neat. It got really windy so kids didn't want to be out, but DH and I did some more biking (including showing him the spring) and biking a narrow path in the woods. Brought the kids out to the rocky beach and half filled the van with driftwood for garden decorations. Had dinner, cake and presents (birthdays of 4 people), and DS is very happy because he now has enough money to buy a refurbished iPod Touch (the previous generation). We are going to go buy it tomorrow!

My first full week of summer vacation starts on a good note. :)

I hope it stays that way.

Maybe I need more wine. :P
