Off to North Carolina

My step sister and her husband retired this summer and moved from Orlando Florida to Asheville North Carolina. We fly in for a short visit on Friday and will stay until Monday.

They hike daily.Both are training to hike the Appalachian trail next year. It's been their retirement dream.

So... I"m off this morning to buy some hiking boots and fleece.

There will be a fall festival this weekend and I am the keynote political speaker for the Buggs Campaign. I think I will give a mini speech after the Dulcimer competition.

Ahhh yes, the Biltmore Estates. Patterned after our own humble estate, it was! Yessss, that's the ticket...my house and the Biltmore, can't tell them apart. It is truly a lovely place, specially at Christmas!

Ah, beautiful Ashville. Have you been to Biltmore Estates yet. Very impressive. You will be only 70 or so miles from where I reside. As for hiking... If I don't have a motor propelling me I ain't gonna do it.

Apple festival is happening this weekend in Erwin TN and the storytelling festival is kicking off in Jonesborough TN this weekend too. Just a few ideas to kick around...

I have a friend who just hiked the entire Trail. It took him six months. Now that he's back, he's got great stories of folks he met and wildlife, including bears, that he encountered. AND he can't wait to do it again. (He's young.)
