Oh, My Aching Tooth!




I need some ideas for relieving pain in my jaw, probably from an infected tooth or something similar.

Went to the doc yesterday and got antibiotic. Don't want any more pills for pain, just some techniques or ideas to try. I has kept me up all night for the last two nights - but I haven't had any pain during the day until today.

I've tried lots, but I'm sure there must be something I haven't tried yet.

Thanks Kristy, - I called my dentist today. He's on vacation and said that the antibiotic prescribed by the med center doc was about half of the needed dose. So, I have to double up on them and he'll prescribe something when that is gone or see me on Wednesday when he's back in town. He said the higher dose should work a lot faster to get rid of the pain...

Usually the pain is caused by the infection which begins to diminish with the antibiotic. Hopefully you are "most cases" and the pain will be gone shortly!

Yup, usually that's true. I thought I was past the part where "it'll get worse before it starts getting better." It just keeps getting worse. One more night, then I have to go find a dentist tomorrow.
