Some of you might know that I'm the caregiver for my mom who has dementia. Alzheimer's is the the most well known kind. It's an ugly disease as you know if you've seen it first hand. It doesn't just affect the memory, it destroys the entire brain over time.

This note is asking for your donation (if possible) and I'd like you join a memory walk where ever you are. If you're not comfortable sending your donation on line, send me a message and I'll email a form you can download and mail in. Please put my "supporter id number" (at the top of the page) on your check.

My goal is a very reasonable one of $500. I've emailed a few of my friends, and I'll be heading out tomorrow to visit my neighbors to ask for their support, too.

Today more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. In addition, 78 million baby boomers are approaching the age of greatest risk for developing this fatal disease. Now is the time to ACT to end this epidemic!

This year, to support those affected by Alzheimer’s, I’m participating in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® to raise funds and awareness to fight this disease.

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research, and funds I raise will go directly toward supporting their efforts.

Clearly, the thermometer is not showing the amount I've personally raised! I think that might be for the entire West Michigan area or something. I haven't met my goal! I've raised just a bit more than 20% of my goal. I might even raise the goal if it seems too low. The walk is more than two months from now.
