This is a test

"Aw I wish I'd said that."

I don't know what the above is called but I've been trying to remember how to do it for a long, long time. I first saw it on Apositivepessimist's blog on Blogster years ago. I figured out how to do it and then forgot...

She used to do it when she wanted to use four letter words which of course are not allowed here or there.

Anyway, I'm glad I figured out how to do it again - but don't expect me to use it for 4-letter words.

I use Firefox as my browser, Cat. And guess what! I got my mouse to show me the underlying "blahblahblah" message by holding my mouse over the underline for a few seconds. So it works for me, too! Woot!

So I tried hovering over the item, and "blahblahblah" appeared but only if I stopped the cursor and held it on the last word. Having seen that, I am still wondering what the fuss is about.

It was a test to see if it worked. Now that I know it does, I'm going to use it in other posts.

Maybe the "trick" is to wait. It shows up if I leave the mouse pointer stationary for 2 to 3 seconds. But just passing over does nothing.

Yep that's the idea.

"Aw I wish I'd said that."

It's not hidden from me either, although the underline didn't copy and paste.

Did you see the hidden phrase? I don't think you're supposed copy and paste it - just put your cursor on it and a hidden phrase should appear. Teal says it's not working for her so I'm not sure what's going on. It works for me in Firefox and Safari (I have a Mac) but the underline doesn't show on Safari.

it made me blush

Silly boy.

Like Teal, I just see the underline, but a mouseover does nothing.... So I'll just imagine some fiery hot comment instead.

What browser do you have?
reply by catdancer on July 22, 2013 10:20 AM ()
Yes, I see a gray underline ...
comment by tealstar on July 20, 2013 8:24 AM ()
Did you put your cursor on the words that are underlined? Just put it there and a hidden phrase is supposed to appear. I don't know why it works for some and not others. What browser do you use?

She is alive and well, living in Kentucky.

Have you been in touch lately? She was so much fun to read and just disappeared. I have really missed her blogs.
reply by catdancer on July 20, 2013 1:39 AM ()
An alt tag, or mouseover.

Does it work for you? Teal says it doesn't work for her. It works for me but maybe I'm the only one. Thanks for telling me the name.
reply by catdancer on July 20, 2013 2:56 PM ()
Tried it sweet thing -- it didn't work. Nothing appeared. Is it working for you?
comment by tealstar on July 19, 2013 4:28 PM ()
Weird. It works for me on my laptop but not my iPhone. Do you see an underline under the sentence?
reply by catdancer on July 20, 2013 1:40 AM ()
So sorry not to understand anything you are getting at. I don't know what "above" you are referring to -- what you "first saw" -- figured out how to do "What???" Who is the "she" who used to do "what". As far as I am concerned you can use all the 4-letter words you want. If it's your post, they will appear.
comment by tealstar on July 19, 2013 4:14 PM ()
Sorry - you just put your cursor over the underlined word or phrase and a hidden message will appear. She used the blog name Apositivepessimist at Blogster. I can't remember what she used here on MyBloggers. She's been gone a long time.
