Besides helping dogs/cats that are in need and pulling them out of shelters that are about to be put down and if you are participating in that knowing you just spared a life is such a rewarding feeling that makes one feel grateful why God put people like us here on earth.

Today, was my second transport rescue to get this beautiful English Settler to her forever home in New Hampshire. We, my husband who often takes the runs with me saw that she was a little thin but knowing her Mom will fix that.

I urge people if you want to go a step further do a leg run and actually meet the dog that has gotten a second chance. It is easy sitting behind the computer and making phone calls and yes you are helping with the process but to actuall meet a dog is even better.

If you want to be a animal volunteer I be happy to help you get started in your area.

I belong to a coon hound group on Yahoo, since one of my boyz is a coon hound and they have a somewhat breed-specific personality. Anyway, what's sad is that after some are saved, there is always a post with more that need rescue the following week. People insist on going to breeders when there are so many good companions available. And spaying and neutering is a small investment in the future of a dog. Just so much that needs to be done....
