I just read Solitaire's list and thought I would make my own list. Like his post, mine are a list of daily pleasures.
1. My one or two cups of morning coffee - Columbia Supremo with Irish Creme Creamer.
2. Watching the early morning sun and the long long shadows of the pine trees. They shorten and disappear during the day and then grow long again in the evenings.
3. Petting Annie, my German Shorthair Pointer. We also have long conversations, but I talk and she listens. lol
4. Reading my Bible, a book and/or poetry.
5. Listening to music. I like all kinds of music and so I pick whatever I'm in the mood for on that particular day.
6. Bird watching. I keep my bird feeders well stocked and I have quite the variety of birds visiting each day. I especially love to hear them talking when I awake every morning.
7. Listening to the cries of the hawks and eagles and also the coyotes. Life in the outback can be so beautiful.
8. Sitting out in the yard in the evening as the sun sets in beautiful colors and the shadows of darkness creep over the hills and trees. This is a very peaceful time of day. The owls keep me company with their hoots to one another. I think they may be trying to talk to me at times. I sure wish I knew what they were saying.
9. My nightly "nesting" routine as I get ready for bed. With my back pain, I have to have my pillows adjusted just so. I have a special neck pillow for neck and head support, a pillow for under my knees to keep the strain off my back, and a pillow at the end of the bed to hold the blankets off my feet so they don't hurt. Just getting my bed ready also helps to prepare me mentally for going to sleep.
10. My nightly prayers when I feel the closeness of God. I know He will be watching over me and protecting. It is the time when I remember the ones I love and hold dear and I say a prayer for them, too. Some of you... my blogger friends... are in those nightly prayers.
Well.... that is my day and that is a really good day. I do admit that not everyday is this pleasant and as you all know... I have some very bad days, too. But... most importantly, I always remember my prayers and pray that tomorrow will be one of those good days.
Love and hugs to you all - Annie :o)
